Post Graduate Education
Fellowship
in Bone Tissue Engineering Center
The Bone Tissue Engineering Center offers 1-year fellowship appointments
for medical residents interested conducting research. The appointment
offers the resident an in depth research experience which can be tailored
to the specific preferences and abilities of each resident. Projects
encompass basic, applied and clinical questions regarding the enhancement
of bone healing. Current efforts focus on molecular, cellular, biochemical,
histochemical, physical chemical and surgical investigations. Experience
in grant application and scientific writing is often available. The
appointment and flexible choice of research areas facilitates the resident's
undivided commitment to the BTEC research project.
Fellowship
from the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative (PTEI)
The PTEI
Postdoctoral Fellowship Program represents the most advanced of
all PTEI educational programs. Participants receive individualized training,
encompassing relevant course work and laboratory experiences at Pittsburgh
research institutions and biotechnology companies. The fellows participate
in selecting the sequence and sites for their training, and are enrolled
in a technology commercialization and intellectual property course through
Carnegie Mellon University.
